It’s no longer necessary to be driving around for real Cuban food. Rumba’s Cafe is right here, at 513 Central Ave, Jersey City, NJ…. and for a few years has been attracting people who are being delighted by our typical flavor. Our goal is to create a warm and relaxed space which you can enjoy and always remember.
Afro-Cuban Rumba is entirely different than Ballroom Rumba or the African style of pop music called Rumba.RUMBA was developed in rural Cuba, and is still danced in Havana, Matanzas and other cities as well as rural areas.
The word RUMBA comes from the Spanish word “rumbear” which means to party. Rumba is a generic term covering a variety of musical rhythms and associated dances.
It contains both African and Caribbean influences due ti the importation of African alaves to South America and the Caribbean.
